Embracing Palliative Care in Paediatric Oncology from the Diagnosis Onwards – Apply Now
The SIOP Europe Palliative Care Working Group together with Young SIOPE will organize a course about "Embracing Palliative Care in Paediatric Oncology from the Diagnosis Onwards" on 14-15 March 2025.
Paediatric palliative care aims to support children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families, from the time of diagnosis. It has been recognized that early integration with oncology has benefits for all involved, regardless of the outcome. Through improved communication and advance care planning, it enables user-centered care, where concerns about quality of life, preferences and values are given the same importance as cutting-edge therapy.
The course will cover all areas of palliative care from early integration, symptom control, advance care planning, end of life care and bereavement. There will be keynote lectures by leaders in the field, roundtable discussions and small group work - active preparation and participation is mandatory for this course.
