The 2017 MCCR Workshop – the 19th ECCO-AACR-EORTC-ESMO Workshop on Methods in Clinical Cancer Research – is a unique opportunity to build the next generation of cancer clinical research experts. The next edition will take place on 17-23 June 2017 in Zeist (the Netherlands), and application submissions will close on 8th February 2017.
Previously known as "Flims", this workshop proved to be extremely successful over the past years. Clinical scientists who can set up and run high-quality clinical trials are vital to the advancement of new therapies and, thus, the presence of a strong research base is essential to the future of good quality cancer care. In an excellent environment for an educational focus, this well-recognised course trains the next generation of high-level clinical scientists who will develop new cancer therapies.
Workshop participants' core activity is to develop their initial protocol proposal into a complete protocol: in small groups, they receive an extensive feedback on their trial concepts and complete the writing of their protocol by applying the knowledge acquired during the course. The added value of MCCR is its 1-week-long "full immersion" format and its world-renowned faculty of highly experienced clinical experts in the field of oncology. During this week, they provide their advices on protocol development and career mentoring to course participants during one-to-one sessions, small group discussions, lectures and panel discussions.
