PanCareSurFup for Childhood Cancer Survivors – European Conference

ACTING NOW!

23 – 24 May 2016, Brussels, Belgium

In a few months from now, partners and experts from our EU project PanCareSurFup (PanCare Childhood and Adolescent Cancer Survivor Care and Follow-Up Studies) will present important study findings and initiatives from this 6 year project. Funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, PanCareSurFup carries out research studies into the late side effects of treatment during childhood cancer. As one of the main objectives of the broader European Cancer Plan for Children and Adolescents, the research performed by project partners is essential to provide every European childhood cancer survivor with better access to care and better long-term health. The PanCareSurFup European Conference ‘Acting Now!’, which will take place on 23-14 May 2015 in Brussels, will present the research findings obtained so far on the long-term consequences of childhood and adolescent cancer and its treatment, and will also identify possible solutions to ensure a better quality of survivorship, as well as to empower survivors to play an active role in maintaining their own health and well-being via specific tools, like the ‘Survivorship Passport’. Paediatric oncologists, healthcare professionals, policy-makers, researchers, psychologists, nurses, childhood cancer survivors and their families are all welcome to attend this unique conference. Registrations are already open on the PanCareSurFup website, and participation grants to attend the conference are also available for childhood cancer survivors and their families until February 1st, 2016 (please see the special application section after registering to attend the conference; grants are subject to availability and needs, and awardees will be notified by February 15th, 2016).
