The SIOPE Strategic Plan Report 2016 is published

20/12/2017
We are excited to present the SIOPE Strategic Plan Report (Achievements 2016) – our first such report. Following the official launch on 15 November 2015 at the European Parliament, SIOPE took the lead in coordinating the implementation of the SIOPE Strategic Plan ‘A European Cancer Plan for Children and Adolescents’. The SIOPE Board defined leaders responsible for each of the Plan’s objectives and strengthened partnerships with patients, parents and survivors’ advocates as well as adult oncologists, industry and paediatric oncologists from other continents. During 2016, SIOPE focused on the next steps in the Plan’s implementation and made remarkable progresses carrying out several initiatives.  Glancing through this report, keep in mind this is not a measuring stick to see which objectives are doing the best.  It is simply a snapshot of our achievements in 2016.   We thank all SIOPE members and partners who played a crucial role in this endeavour and made possible what we have been able to achieve so far. This report demonstrates how we have moved the needle on specific items for each objective. We wish to reiterate that this is a 10-year plan with seven clearly defined objectives and we are working very hard to ensure that all the goals set for the next decade will be achieved. We encourage you to read this progress report and celebrate the hard work that has gone into reaching a successful future. Together with all our members and partners, we can achieve the objectives we have set as we continue on this journey of creating a brighter future for children and adolescents with cancer. The report on the achievements for year 2017 will be published in 2018. SIOPE Strategic Plan Report (Achievements 2016) – click here.
