The EU-funded project, PanCareFollowUp (pancarefollowup.eu) looks at how to best deliver long-term care to survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer in Europe. Survival rates have improved over the last few decades but there is still a long way to go in long-term follow-up care for survivors of childhood cancer.
The aim of PanCareFollowUp is to deliver care according to recently developed guidelines using an innovative model for person centred care that empowers survivors and supports self-management. The kick-off meeting of 15 January 2019 in Amsterdam enabled the 14 partners from 10 European countries to have a shared and clear vision of their role.
All partners reiterated their commitment to delivering the best survivorship care to survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer in Europe. SIOP Europe’s role in PanCareFollowUp includes the coordination of the Survivorship Passport Work Package, as well as communication and dissemination activities in collaboration with the PanCare network and Childhood Cancer International Europe (CCI-Europe).
