Revisions of the "Standards of Care for Children with Cancer" in Europe

In 2009, SIOP Europe prepared the ‘European Standards of care for Children with Cancer’ - a guideline document summarising the essential conditions for care delivery in paediatric oncology. Today, more than 10 years later it is time for an update.

The work to accomplish this update will be carried out by 10 groups, each assigned to a specific topic and consisting of experts, Young SIOPE members and CCI-Europe members. The project will officially be launched by the end of April 2023.

EXPeRT board position for a Young SIOPE member

This is a call for a Young SIOPE members to take up the very exciting opportunity to join the Board of the European Cooperative Study Group for Rare Tumours (EXPeRT). Founded in 2008, EXPeRT is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of very rare tumours, developing evidence-based and internationally recognised guidelines through data exchange and wider analyses, facilitating EXPeRT consultation to assist in clinical decision-making, and enabling clinical and molecular genetic research to improve the outcome for children, adolescents and young adults that suffer from these tumours.

As an Associated Board Member you would participate in and contribute to every EXPeRT board discussion for a term of 2 years, however you will not have a vote. The benefits of such unprecedented exposure at an early stage in your career would be unparalleled. Additionally, there will be the potential to develop an EXPeRT project and demonstrate the power and innovation of Young Investigators by driving this forward. We are seeking an enthusiastic, determined, and dynamic mindset and applicants must have the ability to express themselves clearly in English.

If you wish to express an interest in applying for this role please email the SIOP Europe office (edu@siope.eu) for further details of the application process. The deadline for expressing an interest in this opportunity is 21 May 2023.
