The SIOPE Psychosocial Working Group continues to grow! We welcomed more new members and will continue to organise meetings with our members four times a year to strengthen the network and be ready for our tasks. Mark your calendar for the next “Open Members Meeting” on May 17th, 14:00h in Milan, during the SIOP Europe Annual Meeting 2024!
Meanwhile we are still working on our tasks of raising awareness about psychosocial work and research and mapping psychosocial care in Europe. Don't miss our upcoming awareness campaign, in which we will present one mental health care standard in more detail every month.
We are also delighted about the networking opportunities with many other working groups, as representatives from national, international or specialist groups that are part of the SIOPE Psychosocial Working Group. This emphasizes the spirit of our group: to be a contact point for psychosocial issues within SIOPE and to strengthen joint activities. This will be positively reflected at this year’s annual meeting of the SIOPE in Milan, as we are looking forward to joint sessions in which the psychosocial perspective goes hand in hand with other disciplines, whether it's palliative care, patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) or follow-up care.
Additionally, as the SIOPE Psychosocial Working Group is also part of the EU-CAYAS-NET project, we would like to ask for your support: if you have not already done so, please complete the Survey on Mental Health and Psychosocial Care in Survivorship. It only takes 15-20 minutes to complete the survey. The results should ultimately help us to work together as patient advocates and health care professionals to provide better psychosocial care in survivorship. For the health care professionals: please answer once per institution (alone or as a team). Find more information below and feel free to forward it to everyone involved!
Lastly, the SIOPE Psychosocial Working Group participated in the World Health Worker Week campaign that took place from 7-13 of April 2024. SIOPE co-organized this campaign with ACCELERATE, by showcasing the remarkable work of SIOPE’s and ACCELERATE’s Working Groups and Clinical Trial Groups, all in light of #WorldHealthWorkerWeek. Read more about the campaign here or follow us on social media using the hashtag #SIOPExACCELERATE.
