The smartCARE project, a flagship initiative of the EU4Health Programme and part of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan, is revolutionising the way we support cancer survivors across Europe. By developing a smartcard for cancer survivors in the form of a mobile app, smartCARE aims to improve the health and well-being of those who have triumphed over cancer. The project focuses on identifying the needs of survivors, and translating those needs into an innovative digital tool that enhances post-treatment care.
On November 22, the smartCARE project will showcase its groundbreaking work in developing a mobile app to empower cancer survivors and improve their long-term health outcomes.
The event, which will take place in Brussels, Belgium, is a pivotal moment for smartCARE, as it provides an invaluable opportunity to disseminate the project's findings, share key lessons learned and highlight the app's potential to transform post-cancer care across Europe. The programme is expected to include a live demonstration of the app prototype, allowing participants to test the latest version for themselves. Feedback will then be gathered through interactive workshops, which will feed into the final blueprint document.
The hybrid event, hosted by ECO with communication support by SIOP Europe, will bring together over 200 key stakeholders in oncology, patient advocacy, and policy, providing a space to reflect on the project's achievements and explore future opportunities. It represents a significant step towards raising awareness about the app's potential to revolutionise cancer care and ensure its continued development across Europe.
