23/01/2025

The SIOP Europe Radiation Oncology Working Group is already existing since more than 4 years, and gathers around 400 members: Radiation oncologists, physicists and radiotherapists.

The SIOPE Radiation Oncology Working group is currently organizing the 1st online Kick-off meeting of the Technical development and innovations forum, on 13 March. The forum will work closely with the SIOPE Radiation Oncology Working Group Steering Committee. If you would like to receive more information, please contact mariangela.fiorente@siope.eu

The SIOPE Radiation Oncology will endorse the Symposium on VMAT and TomoTherapy TBI, TMI and TMLI – whole-body irradiation in the 21st century. It will take place on 16-17 June 2025 in Utrecht, The Netherlands

International experts, who have cooperated in the establishment of protocols, will take the floor to give presentations regarding current and future perspectives for highly conformal radiotherapy techniques during myeloablative conditioning for HSCT in children and adults. The program will cover diverse aspects of implementation of VMAT and TomoTherapy TBI, TMI and TMLI treatments. There will be breakout sessions for physicists, radiotherapy technologists and radiation oncologists, where we will provide an in-depth focus on technical and clinical aspects of VMAT and TomoTherapy planning and treatment for TBI, TMI and TMLI, for different treatment planning systems and treatment machines.

The TBI symposium is of interest for radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiotherapy technologists, hematologists and anybody with an interest in TBI, TMI and TMLI.

The SIOPE Radiation Oncology Working Group is open to all committed colleagues across Europe involved in paediatric radiation oncology. You can send your contact details or those of the new colleagues involved in paediatric radiotherapy to Mariangela Fiorente (mariangela.fiorente@siope.eu)
