News from MONALISA

23/04/2025

The MONALISA project is a groundbreaking initiative aiming to improve the monitoring of children with relapsed neuroblastoma using liquid biopsies. This Horizon Europe project aims to detect relapses earlier and enhance patient outcomes. It integrates digital decision support tools and patient- centered care, reducing healthcare costs.

2025 has started in full swing with several key events and activities and more is in the pipeline.

Past event: MONALISA project - Mission Cancer Cluster meeting on Diagnosis & Treatment successfully held on 17 January 2025 in Barcelona

The Horizon Europe Mission Cancer Cluster meeting on Diagnosis & Treatment, organized by MONALISA with the participation of five projects (MONALISA, ENDEAVOR, RESOLVE, DeFINITIVE, PREMIO-COLLAB) took place on 17 January 2025 in Barcelona. It was a great occasion to present the latest results and advance collaboration in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Mission Cancer Clusters provide participants with a platform to collaborate, leverage EU funding, enhance networking across sectors and disciplines, and develop a comprehensive portfolio of Cancer Mission R&I and policy actions. This important activity is ongoing, and it is expected that policy guidelines will be published in the coming months. MONALISA coordinated the activities for the Cluster meeting in 2024, the work culminated to the 1st cluster meeting co-organised by Definitive and MONALISA. EU representative and external speakers were invited to contribute to the discussion.

Past event: MONALISA 2025 General Assembly held on 29 January in Barcelona

The MONALISA General Assembly 2025 was held at the Princess Maxima Center (PM) premises in Utrecht on 29 January. All partners gathered to present the latest results about the project and take the stock of the situation regarding all the ongoing and upcoming activities. It was a great opportunity for partners to discuss and engage to move forward with this important Horizon Europe project in the frame of the EU Beating Cancer Plan.

MONALISA partners are committed to continuing the work to close existing gaps in neuroblastoma evidence-based clinical evaluation of liquid biopsies as a highly sensitive monitoring tool to guide decisions towards innovative treatment options as a blueprint for other paediatric cancers.

Upcoming event: MONALISA at SIOP Europe Annual Meeting 2025

MONALISA will be presented at the “Project in the spotlight session” on 15 May between 10:15 and 10:25. We look forward to welcoming SIOPE Annual Meeting participants to learn more about MONALISA results and engage with the project partners!
