News from Jane2

23/04/2025

On January 28th and 29th, SIOP Europe (SIOPE) attended in Milan the Kick-off meeting of the Joint Action on Networks of Expertise on Cancer (JANE-2). Representing childhood and adolescent oncology, SIOP Europe contributed to shaping the future of cancer care for young patients at the meeting.

JANE-2 aims to implement seven new Networks of Expertise, focusing on seven transversal relevant topics to be tackled by the Oncology community: (1) Complex and poor prognosis cancers, (2) Palliative care, (3) Survivorship, (4) Personalized Cancer Prevention, (5) Omics Technologies, (6) Hi-Tech Medical Resources, (7) Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) with Cancer.

In this groundbreaking, policy-changing joint action, SIOP Europe will provide its contribution and support to the Network of Expertise on Adolescents and Young Adults (NoE on AYA).

The Network of Expertise on Adolescents and Young Adults aims to become the network where the collaboration between paediatric and adult cancer services will be strengthened to address the gap of AYA patient survival across EU Member States.

JANE 2 is a 48-month project (November 2024 – October 2028), which is co-funded by the European Union under the EU4Health programme 2021-2027 as part of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. This project involves 121 partner organisations from 25 Member States and 4 Associated Countries.
