Global Congress on Teenage Cancer

31/07/2017
Building on the success of Teenage Cancer Trust’s International Conference Series and the professional global networks that have developed through subsequent world-wide advances in adolescent and young adults (AYA) cancer services, Teen Cancer America will host the 2nd Global Adolescent & Young Adult Cancer Congress on 5-7 December 2017 in Atlanta, GA, USA. There is a need for a Congress focusing on the specific needs of adolescents and young adults, an age groups often overseen and “lost” in the middle between paediatric and adult cancer services. The challenges of facing cancer as a teenager are considerable, and teens and young adults have unique medical and psychological needs that are not being addressed in most hospitals. Founded by Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend from the band “The Who”, Teen Cancer America raises the awareness and financial resources needed to help hospitals across America create specialized services and 'teen focused' units. This US Congress will present the latest advances from leading international AYA experts comprised of scientists, oncology and hematology clinicians, researchers, allied health professionals and patient advocates from around the world.
