Get together - Survivors group exchange

28/11/2014

Last 22nd November 2014 the regional survivors group of Vienna on behalf of all Austrian Survivor groups and Österreichische Kinder-Krebs-Hilfe (Austrian Parents Organisation) has organised in the Austrian capital the first survivors group exchange between Survivors/Survivor groups representatives from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Survivors groups are of essential support for survivors themselves, as well as for current patients and families. Their aims differ and range from providing social contact, sharing experiences and knowledge up to giving back hope to those, who are living with cancer, making the groups very important.  Through international exchange survivors from different countries were inspired either to set up groups in their region/country or to offer special activities for survivors and patients. In some countries the establishment of a survivor group is still ongoing.

Therefore the aim of this meeting was to share experiences of different survivors' group with other groups through lively interactions.
