The 6th ERN PaedCan General Assembly took take place virtually on 12-13 November 2020.

This virtual meeting was open to all members of the European peadiatric oncology community and drew a particularly large audience.

During the ERN PaedCan general assembly which took place on the first day of the virtual meeting, speakers reported on the progress on the objectives of the network.

The second day was dedicated to the European Standard Clinical Practice (ESCP) Project, which was launched by SIOP Europe, the SIOPE Clinical Research Council and the ERN PaedCan in December 2018

The ESCP Project is a close collaboration with ERN PaedCan and SIOP Europe’s Clinical Trial Groups (ECTG), aiming to develop approved clinical recommendations reflecting current best practice for each common childhood cancer type. The ultimate goal is to improve outcomes and to increase childhood cancer survival and quality of life. The ESCP recommendation will provide all childhood cancer centres, including those in widening countries with benchmarks for best practice.

16 European Clinical Trial Groups have joined this important initiative and have been working on their ESCP documents.
