Conference ‘Review of the EU Paediatric Medicines Regulation – Let’s do more for children with cancer’

This important policy event took place on 7 September 2016 at the European Parliament. This Conference aimed to raise awareness on the challenges deriving from the implementation of the current EU Paediatric Regulation and the need for its urgent review to boost access to life-saving innovation for children and adolescents with cancer.
This event was hosted by Elena Gentile MEP (S&D, IT), supported by Glenis Willmott MEP (S&D, UK), and co-organised by the MEPs Against Cancer (MAC) European Parliament Group, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and SIOPE. It followed the successful SIOPE-MAC event of 2015, which marked the official launch of the SIOPE Strategic Plan in the EU policy arena. By focusing on the Paediatric Regulation, this year’s conference addresses specifically Objective 1 of the SIOPE Strategic Plan - Innovative therapies.
