UNICA4EU

Towards a UNIque approach for artificial intelligence data-driven solutions to fight Childhood CAncer FOR Europe

About the Project

The idea of the UNICA4EU project itself, is to bring together in a unified and collaborative consortium the key players that can make possible the wide dissemination of the guidelines, use case scenarios, data sources and other outcomes relative to AI applied to childhood cancer.

Project Goals

UNICA4EU's goal is to pave the foundation of the ecosystem that will facilitate the upscaling and wide-scale application of Artificial Intelligence to Paediatric Cancer in the next ten years, positioning Europe as the worldwide benchmark in the field.

Project Objectives

  1. Enlarge and enrich the multi-disciplinary research community around the delivery of childhood cancer care with AI experts and research data platform communities
  2. Provide a holistic set of guidelines, considering personalized, codesigned, known and unmet needs, for the development of AI supported solutions for childhood cancers
  3. Disseminate and promote the outcomes towards standardisation, reaching the Research, Industrial and European community to maximise impact and unified exploitation of UNICA4EU

SIOP Europe's Role in the Project

The European Society For Paediatric Oncology (SIOP Europe) is the Coordination Organisation of the project and also the Lead Beneficiary of WP1 - Management and Coordination. This is a key role for the organisation, as SIOP Europe is responsible for the coordination and the management of the consortium and ensures a successful administrative and general management of the project. SIOP Europe also participates under the WP2, WP3 and WP4.
