Consultant in Pediatric Palliative Care, Kinderspital Zurich
Dr. Eva Maria Tinner is a certified pediatric oncologist and hematologist with a long-standing commitment to pediatric palliative care.
During her clinical fellowship in pediatric oncology at Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals Foundation Trust, UK, in 2009, she collaborated with the Children and Young Person Oncology Outreach Specialists, solidifying her passion for providing holistic care to children with complex medical needs. Upon returning to Switzerland she deepened her expertise by completing the Dattelner Curriculum in PPC.
From 2018, Dr. Tinner was an active member of the PPC team at Inselspital, expanding her focus to include children with non-oncological conditions, and since October 2023 she has been dedicating 50% of her clinical time to PPC at the Kinderspital Zürich.
Dr. Tinner is also actively involved in the long-term follow-up of adult survivors of childhood cancer. She played a key role in the establishment of interdisciplinary follow-up clinics at two Swiss hospitals, where she acts as pediatric oncologist alongside her internist colleagues who serve as clinical leads.
Dr. Tinner is an active member of PPCN CH (Paediatric Palliative Care Network Switzerland), PanCare, and SSPHO, where she serves as Chair of the Survivorship Working Group.
