SIOP Europe and CCI Europe will once again mark the Gold September – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month campaign through this annual flagship policy event hosted by MEP Loucas Fourlas (EPP, Cyprus) in Brussels in cooperation with the MEPs Against Cancer (MAC) Interest Group.
On 26 April 2023, the European Commission published the proposal for the revision of the EU Pharmaceutical legislation, which also includes provisions on medicines for rare diseases and children. Hence, this year's SIOPE-MAC Policy Event will focus on the proposal of the revision and we are warmly inviting you to register and join us on Thursday, 7 September from 3:00 to 4:30 PM CEST in Brussels, Belgium (Location: EU Parliament Altiero Spinelli Building 3E-2).

It is crucial to take a decisive step forward for the benefit of children with cancer with a swift negotiation and adoption of the European Commission’s proposal and move towards its prompt implementation to accelerate innovation for children with cancer without further delay.

Background
The European Childhood Cancer community analysed the proposal and has underlined areas that should be upheld during the negotiation process as well as those where amendments can further strengthen the revision.
