SIOP Europe Imaging Working Group

In view of the changing landscape of paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine in oncology, a dedicated group of paediatric radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians identified the need for a forum to bring together all those involved in paediatric imaging across the SIOP Europe affiliated countries.

The SIOP Europe Imaging Working Group will focus on the promotion of the highest standards in paediatric radiology and nuclear medicine, in particular for patient care, clinical trials, education and clinical research to enhance the evidence base for paediatric imaging as well as image-guided interventions and therapies in children with cancer.

The SIOP Europe Imaging Working Group will focus on the general improvement of diagnostic imaging and image-guided therapies in children with cancer, both in daily patient care as well as in clinical trials and other research, and including introduction of new innovative imaging techniques and quality control issues relevant to the imaging community.

The SIOP Europe Imaging Working Group will collaborate closely with all existing imaging committees within the different SIOP Europe Clinical Trial Groups and hopes to get involved in those relevant clinical trial groups and other subcommittees in which pediatric radiologists and nuclear medicine physicians are not yet involved. Furthermore, there will be an active involvement in the education of all professionals involved in the care of children with cancer.

Last but not least, the SIOP Europe Imaging Working Group can act as a liaison between SIOP Europe and other related (imaging) societies such as the European Society of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR) and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM).
