A Cherished Tradition: Manneken Pis Dressed as a Paediatric Oncologist for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Gold September always begins with the dressing of our little statue in Brussels, shining a spotlight on childhood cancer for the rest of the month.
This year, the dressing will take place on 8 September 2025 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm CEST. The SIOPE team will gather at noon for a group photo.

Where Fashion and Compassion Converge: Céline Van den Bossche, the acclaimed fashion designer behind the JANUE label, has once again teamed up with SIOPE to create a special outfit for Manneken Pis. The design, unveiled at the event, symbolises hope and unity in the fight against childhood cancer. Supported by the City of Brussels, this initiative continues the tradition of using Manneken Pis to raise awareness and promote solidarity.
A Lasting Legacy: The paediatric oncologist costume will then return to its place in the permanent collection at the GardeRobe MannekenPis Museum, ensuring its lasting impact on childhood cancer awareness. For more details about the museum, please visit their official website.
Supporting the Cause: Donations will be raised during the event to further support SIOPE's campaigns and initiatives throughout the year.

Inauguration Event Highlights:
The ceremony took place at the City Hall of Brussels and commenced at 11:00.
The Alderman of Culture or a representative opened the ceremony with a warm welcome speech.
Dr. Carmelo Rizzari, SIOPE President, delivered a powerful speech representing SIOPE.
The official dressed as Manneken-Pis dressed the statue in its new costume.
The President of the Order of Friends of Manneken-Pis concluded the event with a closing speech, followed by a heartwarming toast.
