SIOP Europe is collaborating with the European project, EU-CAYAS-NET, to facilitate an ongoing dialogue between healthcare professionals and cancer survivors. In this edition, we are pleased to present some recent collaborative efforts between SIOPE and the European Network of Youth Cancer Survivors, which include:
- The launch of the Recommendations for Equitable, Diverse, and Inclusive (EDI) Cancer Care in Europe at the European Parliament on March 21. These recommendations outline practical steps to improve EDI in cancer care at the individual, institutional, and societal levels by addressing systemic barriers and disparities in access, delivery, and outcomes based on factors such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or geographic location. - The report of the virtual roundtable organized by SIOPE in collaboration with Youth Cancer Europe in December 2023 is now available here. The roundtable titled Upscaling AYA Cancer Care: Towards Establishing Minimum Standards of Care for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) across Europe brought together healthcare professionals specializing in paediatric cancer, adolescents and young adults affected by cancer, and special guest Dr. Jan-Willem Van-de-Loo from DG Research and Innovation, European Commission. The stakeholders engaged in a dialogue on common practical recommendations for clinical practice and policy for the treatment and care of adolescents and young adults with cancer.
- EU-CAYAS-NET Partners, including SIOPE, have compiled meaningful resources for survivors and healthcare professionals that cover different aspects related to survivorship care and are translated into different languages. Please see here for more information.
