Peter Adamson appointed by President Obama to the US Cancer Advisory Board

224654SIOPE is very glad to announce that Peter C. Adamson, MD (member of the ENCCA Scientific Advisory Board) that has been appointed by President Obama to the National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB). Dr. Peter C. Adamson is attending physician in the Division of Oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a position he has held since 1999. Dr. Adamson has been Chair of the U.S. Children’s Oncology Group, supported by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), since 2010. As a member of the National Cancer Advisory Board, Dr. Adamson will advise the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Director of the National Cancer Institute, and the President on a wide range of issues relating to the national cancer programme. He is currently the only psediatric oncologist to serve on the NCAB, and will help ensure that the voices of the pediatric cancer community are heard by decision makers throughout the federal government. Dr. Adamson has been actively involved in the SIOPE initiatives since the start of the ENCCA project (2010) and being appointed as a member of the ENCCA Scientific Advisory Board together with Ulrik Ringborg and Holger Schünemann.
