Our mission to transform care and research delivery for children and adolescents with cancer in Europe has reached a significant milestone. We're proud to announce the upcoming launch of the Childhood Cancer Country Profiles at the SIOPE Annual Meeting in Milan on May 15th. This initiative maps the current organization and availability of Care and Research across Europe.
The OCEAN Project mapped 386 centers across 38 countries, comprising 22 cancer centers and 364 other facilities. The dedication of 121 contributors, including Chairs of National Paediatric Hemato-Oncology Societies, Young SIOPE members, and patient advocates from CCI-Europe, has been instrumental in shaping our outcomes.
Among the achievements we will have three publications covering care, research, and bibliometric data, along with the creation of individual childhood cancer country profiles, set to be available on the SIOPE website as of May 2024. Furthermore, our contributions have significantly contributed to projects like the UNCAN.eu Project Blueprint in November 2023 and the ECIR Childhood Cancer Factsheet by the JRC IN December 2023.
