SIOP Europe Radiation Oncology Working Group

The seven steering committee members of the SIOP Europe Radiation Oncology Working Group meet on a monthly basis. On demand, guests are invited to join the meetings to introduce a new research project or to add expert opinion.

Major items discussed over the last period concern problems with the access to anaesthesia in certain centres/countries (Stephanie Bolle, Paris; ongoing project), but also the preparatory steps of surveys like cranioharygioma (Geert Janssens, Utrecht), the clinical relevance of ALARA on subsequent malignant neoplasms (Enrica Seravalli, Utrecht; ongoing project), and the paediatric image-guided radiotherapy protocols (Abigail Bryce-Atkinson, Manchester and Daniella Oestergaard, Copenhagen; ongoing project).

Also, in the next-coming months a number of steering committee members will meet representatives from LMIC countries across SIOP Europe online, to map specific needs related to paediatric radiotherapy per country.

Finally, visit the Radiation Oncology Working Group website for a map of paediatric radiotherapy centres per country, an overview of the ongoing/completed research themes and associated publications, but also information about radiotherapy in children for parents and caregivers, and information on upcoming meetings, and newsletters.
