ERN PaedCan and SIOP Europe Announce Public Access to European Standard Clinical Practice (ESCP) Guidelines

Vienna, Austria – November, 5th  2025 – The European Reference Network for Paediatric Cancer (ERN PaedCan), the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOP Europe) and the European Clinical Trial Groups (ECTG) are proud to announce the launch of the significantly enhanced NEW ERN PaedCan Website, making 27 European Standard Clinical Practice (ESCP) Guidelines publicly and freely accessible.

Access to Shared Knowledge

The European expert endorsed ESCP Guidelines provide clear benchmarks of diagnostic and treatment recommendations for childhood cancer with a methodology based on recently published major front-line, randomized clinical trial results of respective ECTG on. Alternatively, in very rare small cancer populations, they provide expert knowledge based on national rare tumour registry data as gathered in the ERNPaedCan PARTNER registry alongside with a literature review. In addition, the content of ESCPs is summarised in peer reviewed journals being traceable on the WEB Site.

It is expected that this shared knowledge inherent to the ESCPs will elevate standard of care across Europe to overcome current inequalities and will improve childhood cancer survival and quality of life.

Feedback and Impact Measurement

To understand the ESCP implementation experience in respective countries, users are invited to a brief survey to provide feedback on their insights.

A slim ESCP-specific registry was developed as an instrument to monitor the impact of the ESCPs on European Childhood Cancer outcomes and to gain information about the respective national feasibility of treatment delivery addressing i.e. drug shortages in widening countries.
