During the upcoming SIOP Europe Annual Meeting 2024 in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday May 15th (from 10.30 to 12.30), IMAGING Working Group will organize an open session entitled “New developments in paediatric oncological imaging and image-guided interventions”. This will be a joint session together with the EANM paediatric committee. It will include lectures dealing with the current state and future developments in Nuclear Medicine and Radiological Imaging as well as Image-guided therapies.
Furthermore, during SIOP Europe Annual Meeting 2024 in Milan, a joint operational meeting with the Host Genome Working Group will take place on May 15th. With the increased awareness for paediatric cancer predisposition and improved genetic testing, the number of children with confirmed cancer predisposition syndromes increases. As a result, more and more children are eligible for cancer imaging surveillance, which leads to new questions and challenges. In this operational meeting, members of both working groups want to jointly discuss these topics with as primary goal to eventually set up project groups that will find answers to common questions and/or develop new guidelines.
Additionally, we are still looking for enthusiastic and committed colleagues across Europe, both imaging-related health professionals as well as professionals from other disciplines, involved in diagnostic imaging, and image-guided interventions and therapies in children with cancer to join the Imaging Working Group! Detailed information and the application form can be found here.
Last but not least, the SIOPE Imaging Working Group participated in the World Health Worker Week campaign that took place from 7-13 of April 2024. SIOPE co-organized this campaign with ACCELERATE, by showcasing the remarkable work of SIOPE’s and ACCELERATE’s Working Groups and Clinical Trial Groups, all in light of #WorldHealthWorkerWeek.
