SIOP Europe Meeting in Budapest, Hungary in May 2025: Exciting joint sessions on Cancer Predispositions

The SIOPE Host Genome Working Group has teamed up with several other working groups to host exciting joint sessions, during the SIOPE Meeting in May 2025 in Budapest, Hungary. With the European Cooperative Study Group for Pediatric Rare Tumors (EXPeRT) we have put together a session on “Paraganglioma and Pheochromocytoma in children and adolescents: Updates and challenges”. We will host talks on clinical presentation, genetics, surveillance, and treatment of these rare tumors. Furthermore, a second session with the Radiation Oncology Working Group will review challenges in irradiation of patients with cancer predispositions, notably Li Fraumeni Syndrome. We will review clinical cases, genetics of Li Fraumeni Syndrome, and the risks that could occur when these patients are exposed to irradiation. We will then assess specificities for irradiating children with Li Fraumeni syndrome and how treatment is affected by the underlying disease overall.
