News from SIOP Europe Paediatric Palliative Care Working Group

30/01/2023

In collaboration with the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the SIOP Europe Palliative Care Working Group is undertaking a survey that aims to identify common beliefs about palliative care in European Paediatric Oncology Departments.

Being able to understand the attitudes of physicians on paediatric palliative care is essential for the development of programmes that improve access to high-quality palliative care around the world.

If you are a physician involved in the care of children with cancer in Europe please participate in the survey.

Building on the success of the Working Group’s inaugural session at the SIOPE Annual Meeting last year, we invite you to attend two exciting sessions in 2023:

  • One session will feature a debate on the early versus late integration of palliative care in paediatric oncology, in collaboration with the SIOPE Nursing Working Group, the SIOPE Psychosocial Working Group, Young SIOPE and CCI-Europe.
  • The other session will focus on pain management, in collaboration with the SIOPE Nursing Working Group.

The programme is available here.

If you want to meet the current Steering Committee and other members of the PC Working Group, please join us at the Open Session on 11 May, from 9:15 – 10:00 AM, and bring a smile and ideas for future projects.
