Alice van Velzen is a pediatrician and clinical fellow pediatric oncology in the Princess Maxima Center in Utrecht the Netherlands. She went to the University of Amsterdam to get my medical degree, and after her studies she obtained a PhD in pediatric hematology (2016) and started her training as pediatrician (2015-2020) both at the Amsterdam University Medical Center. After this she started her fellowship in pediatric oncology in 2021 in the Princess Máxima Center, in Utrecht, the Netherlands.Since university she has had a strong interest for medical ethics, carefor chronically ill and life-threatening/life-limiting conditions and end-of-life care as a part of that. Over the last couple years, she has worked closely with the comfort team in her hospital, as well as invested in training and education on this topic. She has been delighted and very excited to become a part of this working group and very motivated to move this field forward.
